THE DRAFT CENTER

Practical support for teens and young adults who feel stuck.

The Draft Center supports teens and young adults facing challenges in school, work, and everyday life. We combine academic and executive-function support with individualized, practical help for people who are struggling to get back on track, or figure out what comes next.

Beyond Accountability

The Draft Center focuses on supporting teens and young adults who may be  facing challenges in academic and professional settings, especially in areas related to executive functioning. Many of our clients find that they are  struggling to adjust after a particularly challenging semester,  have  difficulty navigating major transitions, or are regrouping after taking  time away from school. Others experience  high motivation for change but are uncertain about the next steps, or struggle to turn motivation into actionable plans. Our services include personalized academic coaching and young adult coaching that provides practical support tailored to help individuals regain momentum and effectively move forward towards their goals.

Ways We Can Help

College Re-Entry & Re-Engagement

If college has not gone according to plan, you are not alone. At The Draft Center, we are experts in helping students grapple with difficult situations including failed classes, struggles with attendance, withdrawal, or leaving school without a clear next step. We know that mental health issues, executive function difficulties,  and feelings of overwhelm all play a role in hindered progress, and we are here to troubleshoot when the original educational path  isn't effective.

We assist college students with coaching to navigate what comes next and take concrete steps, whether that means returning to college, pursuing a different educational route, or exploring meaningful work opportunities.

Tutoring, SAT & Writing Support

Sometimes, academic challenges are the core issue, and we provide tutoring and writing support to address these areas too. Our services include:

- SAT preparation

- Academic writing support

- College essays and personal statements assistance

- English and humanities tutoring

- Study skills and academic strategy

- Individualized support for students facing executive function challenges.

Academic & Executive Function Support

For teens and young adults who struggle to turn intentions into action, our academic coaching services focus on enhancing executive functioning skills. Support may include:

- Task initiation and follow-through

- Planning, organization, and time management

- Building sustainable routines

- Academic recovery after a difficult semester

- Breaking large or avoided tasks into manageable steps

- Accountability and between-session support

- Developing strategies that can eventually work independently without a coach

Young Adult Re-Engagement

For young adults feeling stuck with school, work, routines, direction, or  transition into adult life, our young adult coaching is designed to be holistic, collaborative, and effective. Our services are not about conforming to someone else's vision of adulthood; instead, we help individuals define their own goals. Our support may include practical structure, goal development, executive functioning coaching, real-world/in-vivo support, accountability, and guidance toward greater engagement and independence when that independence is a meaningful objective.

Support for Neurodivergent & Twice-Exceptional Students

Twice-exceptional students often have a frustrating experience of being clearly capable while struggling to translate that ability into consistent performance at school. ADHD, executive-function difficulties, anxiety, learning differences, burnout, or uneven skill development can make traditional tutoring alone a poor fit.

The Draft Center works with neurodivergent and 2e teens and young adults on the practical barriers getting in the way of school and daily life—from planning and task initiation to academic recovery, writing, school transitions, and figuring out what comes next. Support is individualized to the student rather than built around a predetermined program.

Who We Work With

The Draft Center is designed primarily for older teens, college students, and young adults, . We may be particularly well-suited for individuals who are bright or capable but struggle to consistently translate that ability into action. Our focus on academic coaching can benefit those who have faced challenges with executive functioning, ADHD, motivation, avoidance, or academic follow-through. Whether you've gotten off track in high school or college, are returning after a leave or significant setback, or have tried traditional tutoring or executive functioning coaching without sufficient improvement, we can help. If you feel stuck and are uncertain about what meaningful next steps look like, our young adult coaching provides more practical, real-world support than a once-a-week conversation can offer.
